What’s & Why use CF?
CF表示Carrier-free, 代表蛋白产品不含携带物。
一般携带物是BSA（牛血清白蛋白），加入携带物是为了增强蛋白产品的稳定性，从而延长了产品的保存期限，加入比例为1μg的蛋白中加50μg的BSA。此外，含有携带物的产品，其重悬时，在不影响蛋白稳定性的前提下，可以得到更大的体积，更低的浓度，例如，含有携带物的产品，其浓度最低可以到10μg/ml，而CF（不含携带物）的产品，其浓度最低为100μg/ml。
但是，在有些实验中，如体内注射免疫生产抗体、自行标记蛋白或者包被多孔板等，携带物等额外蛋白的存在就会干扰实验。此时，只能使用CF（不含携带物）的产品。
大多数R&D Systems蛋白产品都含/不含携带物两种产品形式可供选择。产品货号中含有“/CF”后缀的产品都是不含携带物的产品。
总的来说，含有携带物的产品，稳定性更佳，而CF（不含携带物）的产品应用范围更广泛，实验中大家可以根据具体实验要求，选择最适合实验需要的产品。

Biological Activity
- Measured with an appropriate biological system
- Tested to ensure biological activity is consistent with literature-based expectations
Purity
- Recombinant proteins are typically over 95% pure.
- Ensures that the experimental outcome is a result of the protein of interest and not due to the presence of a contaminant
Endotoxin Level
- Each new production lot of protein is assessed for endotoxin using the Limulus Amoebocyte Lysates (LAL) assay.
- Low endotoxin levels are essential when proteins are used in biological systems that are sensitive to its effect.
Formulation
- Most recombinant proteins are lyophilized from a sterile filtered solution containing a carrier protein, usually bovine serum albumin (BSA) at 50 micrograms per 1 microgram of the protein of interest.
- For applications where carrier protein is undesirable (e.g. in vivo experiments), carrier-free proteins are available (identifiable with the catalog extension of "/CF").
- Our recombinant enzymes are in solution and ready to use.

- When experimental protocols require large quantities of a particular protein, special bulk pack sizes can be purchased. This will reduce the cost per unit mass. Please contact us for a bulk order quote.
Animal-Free™ Recombinant Proteins
To support developing research and bioproduction demands, we offer products manufactured in a laboratory exclusively dedicated to the production and purification of recombinant proteins using all non-animal reagents. Every stage of our established fermentation and protein purification methodologies has been specifically modified for the manufacture of animal-free products. Animal-free proteins are important for researchers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens and are particularly important for ex vivo cell therapy studies. Products that are generated under animal-free conditions share the same biological activity as those produced in a typical laboratory environment.
